The CTIF Commission for Firefighting in Tunnels

The Tunnel Fire Commission of CTIF (International Association of Fire and Rescue Services) is dedicated to enhancing safety and emergency response in tunnel environments. 

Through research, expert collaboration, and knowledge sharing, the Commission addresses the unique challenges posed by tunnel fires, focusing on prevention, firefighting strategies, and rescue operations. By promoting best practices and developing guidelines, the commission aims to improve the preparedness of firefighters and rescue teams, ultimately safeguarding lives and property in tunnel incidents worldwide. Their work fosters international cooperation and brings together experts from various fields to advance training, technology, and awareness in tunnel fire safety.

This CTIF Commission is an international commission open to members from all CTIF countries. The commission is currently chaired by Denmark. 

The contact person from the CTIF Executive Committee is CTIF vice president Martin Nekula, from the Czech Republic.
