Fire Prevention Meeting in Slovenia in September

Dear members of the Fire Prevention Commission.

We are pleased to invite you to the upcoming CTIF Fire Prevention Commission meeting, taking place from September 24 to 26, 2025, in Radenci, Slovenia, alongside the SOBRA International Fair of Defence, Security, Protection, and Rescue (https://www.sejem-sobra.si/en/).

The meeting sessions will be held at the SOBRA fair venue, located near Gornja Radgona, and accommodation is arranged nearby at Zdravilišče Radenci spa resort. The programme will include short member presentations, a demonstration of a fire prevention truck, discussions on fire prevention topics, and the election of a new chairman of the Commission. If you would like to apply for the Chairman position, please send me your CV.

Travel & Accommodation: participants pay for themselves.

GASILSKA ZVEZA SLOVENIJE

Meals:

  • Lunch and dinner on 25 Sept (meeting day) will be provided by the host (Gasilska zveza Slovenije).
  • Other meals (e.g., breakfast is in the hotel cost); other dinners are on the participant’s own.

Local transport:

  • Local transportation within Slovenia (e.g. between the airport, hotel, fair, and dinner venues) will be arranged by the Slovenian Fire Service. Participants are kindly invited to also consider the option of arriving via Graz Airport (Austria), which is approximately 80 km from Gornja Radgona, compared to 166 km from Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport.  

No registration fees or additional expenses are expected beyond personal expenses and optional spa treatments.

Preliminary programme:

24 September (Wednesday) – Arrival & Welcome

  • Individual arrivals to Radenci
  • Check in at Hotel Radin
  • Evening: Informal welcome gathering or dinner (details to follow)

 

25 September (Thursday) – Meeting Day

  • Morning (09:00 – 12:00):
    • Opening of the meeting
    • Member presentations (5–10 min each)
    • Discussion on fire prevention topics
  • Midday:
    • Lunch (provided by GZS)
  • Afternoon  (13:00 – 16:00):  
    • Demonstration of a fire prevention truck (on site)
    • Continuation of working sessions
    • Election of the new chairman
  • Evening:
    • Group dinner (provided by GZS) and informal networking

 

26 September (Friday) – Departures

  • Morning meeting (09:00 – 12:00)
  • Individual check-outs and departures
  • Midday:
    • Lunch (individual at the hotel)
