Ship Fire in Hirtshals (January 2, 2025)

On January 2, 2025, the 154-meter long ro-ro cargo vessel Glyvursnes caught fire while berthed at Hirtshals, Denmark. The fire broke out in the engine room, and the local fire brigade was able to contain the blaze within an hour. 

One crew member perished in the fire, and another was badly injured from burns. Reports indicate that there was heavy smoke, and some crew members suffered smoke inhalation.  The Danish Maritime Authority is investigating the cause of the fire.

Threats Sent to Schools (January 28, 2025)

Numerous schools across Denmark received threats, including bomb threats, leading to evacuations and police investigations. Authorities confirmed 28 reported threats across the country, and investigations are ongoing.
