BBQ behind wildfire in Finnish national park - despite fire ban

A large wildfire has ravaged the Sibbo National Park, outside Helsinki, Finland. 14 hectares of forest have burned down.



The alarm came in at lunchtime. The extinguishing work was very difficult, says chief Petri Lyttinen, who can not remember such a big fire during his 30 years on the job.



"We had to pull about a kilometer of hose line before we got to the fire," he says.



100 firefighters have participated in battling the fire, and firefighting efforts were still ongoing on Sunday evening.

The cause of fire is someone grilling food in the national park, despite the fact there is a fire ban.
