The Asia-Pacific region, the world's most disaster-prone region, is facing increasing threats from climate change. Natural disasters are becoming more frequent and severe. This underscores the urgent need for improved global preparedness and response.

Consequently, the Singapore International Disaster and Emergency Management Expo (SIDEX) 2025 was prepared. Organized by COSEM (the cooperation partner of the SCDF - Singapore Civil Defence Force) and supported by the SCDF, this was a timely initiative that brings together experts to exchange technical knowledge in the field.

SIDEX 2025 presented a carefully curated three-day conference and exhibition from 19 to 21 November 2025 in exhibition halls of the city of Singapore. It combines knowledge sharing, innovation and collaboration. The conference, aptly titled " Ready Today, Resilient Tomorrow", focused on three sub-themes:

(A) Civil protection and security;

(B) Disaster management and

(C) Humanitarian aid.

Attendees received a compelling selection of international keynote speakers and experts from various global organizations.

At the conference and the SIDEX 2025 exhibition presented the latest technologies and services in disaster management and emergency response. Visitors rushed to an extensive exhibition of innovative products and solutions. With hundreds of exhibitors and conference attendees, as well as thousands of visitors, SIDEX 2025 was the leading event that provided an opportunity to expand the network of experts and shape the future of disaster management and emergency response.

As part of SIDEX 2025, the 8th edition of the Singapore Global Firefighters and Paramedics Challenge (SGFPC) took place. The SGFPC, a flagship event organized by the SCDF, took place on November 20 and 21, 2025 at the Singapore Expo. The SGFPC brought together firefighters, rescuers and paramedics from 20 countries around the world (Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Luxembourg, Macau, Malaysia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, UAE, and Vietnam) to take part in exciting, scenario-based challenges that tested their skills, strengths and teamwork.

The CTIF's Fire Statistics Centre took the opportunity to share lessons learned from the work on World Fire Statistics (1995 - current). Peter Wagner shared his experiences as speaker in panel two “Innovations in Fire Safety, Standards and Practices”. Intensive networking was carried out during this event.
