The CTIF Commission for Exctrication and New Technology was also chosen as an award winner for testing the method developed by Cold Cut Systems together with the Swerdis Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), CTIF Sweden and the Swedish automotive industry.

Meet the Winners of the DIREKTION Awards 2026: Mail May 27:
The DIREKTION consortium is proud to present the winners of the 2nd DIREKTION Awards, recognising innovative near-to-deployment solutions addressing key capability gaps in disaster resilience and emergency response.
Following a highly competitive evaluation process, 10 solutions were selected among 47 applications received from across Europe.
The awarded solutions support firefighters, civil protection authorities, emergency medical services and crisis management organisations through innovative capabilities including:
- wildfire prevention and response,
- situational awareness and actionable intelligence,
- robotics and remote operations,
- hazardous substance detection,
- responder safety,
- AI-enabled operational decision support,
- and operational coordination.

The next step is to continue connecting these promising solutions with users, responders, civil protection authorities, funders and policy stakeholders.
