Driver of deadly New Orleans pick up truck opened fire at emergency crews and police

A car drove into a crowd on Bourbon Street in New Orleans on New Years Day,  killing 14 people and injring 30.  Authorities are investigating whether the act was intentional or accidental. The incident disrupted the vibrant tourist hotspot, known for its nightlife.

At least 14 people died, and around 30 were injured after a vehicle plowed into New Year’s celebrators on Bourbon Street, New Orleans. The attack occurred at 3:15 a.m., night to New Years Day, local time, shortly before the Sugar Bowl event. 

The suspected terrorist, driving a pickup truck, crashed into the crowd at high speed, exited the vehicle, and opened fire at police and emergency personnel before being fatally shot by police. Two explosive devices were found and secured. Two injured police officers are reported to be in stable condition.
