The CTIF Fire Statistics is turning 30 years old next year and to celebrate this achievement the FSC is planning a Special Anniversary Edition of the Fire Statistics Magazine.
For the 30th Anniversary Edition, the FSC would be happy to receive relevant statistics or corresponding technical articles.
The Centre for Fire Statistics (CFS) was founded in 1995 and produces annual reports of world fire brigade statistics for CTIF. The reports are available for free download on the CTIF website. Furthermore, the CFS team took care of inquiries regarding fire statistics, risk management, etc. from all over the world, which arrived by telephone or electronic mail.
In recent years, the team members have participated in international fire safety book projects (Germany, Poland, USA) for the promotion of CTIF.

Moreover, the CFS supports the work of other CTIF commissions; for example, the History Commission (writing articles). In recent years, international students who contact the CFS with questions about their bachelor's or master's theses have also been supported.
Wherever appropriate, CFS team members engaged in international conferences to promote CTIF's mission. For two years now, the CFS team has been taking care of the donation of fire safety literature for the CTIF library in Pribyslav (Czech Republic).
At the beginning of September 2024, the annual working session of the CFS took place. The Technical University of Dresden (Germany) was chosen as the venue for the conference.
In the library there, international literature on the subject of statistics was evaluated. In the subsequent working session, the work of the CFS in the past year was analyzed. Both organizational and the further content of the work were discussed.
The 30th anniversary edition of World Fire Statistics is being planned for 2025. In addition to the well-known sections, a chapter on a special topic is planned. In previous editions, the topics of forest fires and the causes of fires have been presented. For Report 30 of 2025, the team discussed the following topics:
- Fires in high-rise buildings (in particular the issue of combustible facade claddings),
- Fires in heritage buildings.
- Market fires (the question is for particularly interest for fire safety experts in Africa and Asia),
- Fires of vehicles with hybrid drives,
- Fires in connection with electrical installations,
- Influence of urban fires on the environment (air, water, soil)
- Readers of this article have the opportunity to give feedback to the CFS team. We would be happy to receive relevant statistics or corresponding technical articles.
